Relaxed.
People that use guns in crimes are already breaking dozens of firearms laws, not to mention, robbery, rape, and murder. But somehow passing restrictions on where, how, and what kinds of guns can be carried will stop them from committing the crime? We can pass laws all day, but by definition, the criminals don't follow them.
The age old argument is that only criminals would have guns, and its obviously true. So why do many states outlaw guns in special areas? state parks, stadiums, dorms, churches, schools, malls, etc.. because then only criminals have guns in these areas... it doesn't make sense...
For example, the Columbine kids were breaking DOZENS of existing laws... nobody could stop them.
Just wait until a few "terrorists" show up in a mall or stadium, with an AK at each door. Its going to make Columbine look like a paper cut, all the sheep will be defenseless, and the hundreds of gun laws on the books won't have prevented a damn thing. (and they may even have caused it)
Stop restricting where people can carry guns.

Ever hear the old saying, "If guns were outlawed, only the outlaws would have guns?"
This country was built on our freedom and right to bear arms to protect ourselves and those we love. Unfortunately, as is always the case, there are alot of people who don't know the meaning of decency, honor, home, family, and don't care to. As in scumbags that sell drugs and won't use them themselves. Or the pimps who put 12-year-olds on the street, etc. Those are the people that should not have guns. Gun laws don't hurt scumbags, they only hurt people who are decent enough to respect the law.
Fallon (by any chance from an old favorite show of mine?) No we didn't have school shootings. Back then, if you were "bad" your father would give you a good ***-whoopin. Now, that's child abuse and you go to jail for disciplining your own child. And children neither have a healthy fear nor respect for their own parents, let alone any authority. And then wonder why this country is messed up and you can go to school and shoot people? Yeah, that's sad, because that is why so many people are pushing for gun contol. Never mind blaming irresponsible parents; let's have more gun control. All I can say is, they better pray if this country ever gets attacked on it's own soil, there is no gun control. 'cause it's all the law-abiding gun owners that'll be the first out there to defend their country and family, and the scum that own them illegally will be the first to run and hide behind them. Yeah man, I'm tough on the street with a 12-year-old or a druggie. Do you really expect me to use this gun against another man to defend my country? Not! Ain't no money in that! But they want the rights and liberty this country has to offer!
Cmon, give me thumbs down, who cares. Had a brother in Vietnam, one in Turkey, another in - never mind. All risking their lives. They can go there and have a gun, but not in the country they're fighting for????NOT!

I feel that everyone has the right to defend them self. If someone is coming into your house uninvited then they are there to do you harm. For the people who want to ban guns cause they kill people: what is the top 10 killer of Americans today? What is number 11? What is number 12? The top ten are health related, 11 is auto mobile accidents and 12 is death by firearms. What the sats doesn't say is the over half are self inflicted, for you slow uneducated people that means suicide. Criminals already do not follow the law, if you ban guns then violent crime will go up. The people with guns, the criminals, will nothing to fear except the cops.
ps. prison does not work.

When it's illegal to have guns, only criminals have them.
Thank God for Texas! We have concealed weapons permits. Although many of us would have liked open carry laws.
When I was in high school, here in Texas, many drove trucks to school. Those trucks had gun racks in the back window. Those gun racks had guns in them, at school.
Back then no one ever heard of school shootings. Of course, that is not the only thing that has changed. We used to leave our vehicle doors unlocked, mostly because the windows were left down. Are guns didn't get stolen either. Ah, the good ole days! The sad part is I haven't been out of school 20 years yet.

I don't think people need fully automatic weapons. I am fine keeping them to licensed people. Bazookas etc. keep that crap off the street.
Other than that dont worry about gun control. I can kill you just as easy with a baseball bat, or a rock on a string as I can with a gun. Why does the weapon of choice matter???

I think that violent people should not be allowed to own guns but a non violent person should be allowed and I feel that the government has infringed the rights of it's citizens to much already.

gun control is a steady hand, the right to bear arms shall not be infringed upon. This is not saying that the constitution gives you the right to bear arms, this says that the right to bear arms is a god given right that shall not be infringed upon, period.

Where I live there are major gangs everywhere. Making the law less strict would only raise the amount of violence here. If the government was actually smart they would make it illegal to carry any kind of gun.
And to the person above me, How do you expet them to know who is violent or not. Just becuase they dont have a police record doesnt mean they arent capable of killing someone.
