You may be in labor due to the back and stomach pain.Call you OB and tell her your symptoms, she will be able to give you more sound advice. But, being dilated doesn't help you determine how soon you will give birth. With my third child,at 37 weeks, I was 6cm, 95% effaced and still not in active labor! With all of my pregnancies, I was 2+cm at 34 weeks. Good Luck!

Sounds like your in labor to me. Labor pains feel alot like menstral cramps. If I remember right mine started in the back and worked there way to the front. Start timing your cramps from when your tummy gets hard till the next time it gets hard. That way you'll know how far apart they are. I believe you call your ob/midwife when they are 3-5 minutes apart, lasting 60 seconds or more each. They do not go away with change of position or movement and they will gradually get closer together. Or call your ob/midwife if your water breaks. To ease the back pain try getting on your hands and knees in the kitty cat poise and arching your back and relaxing. Arch and relax, arch and relax. It works well. Also having someone press on your back during a cramp can help.

If the pain is coming and going in waves and the pain is so bad that you can not talk through them then I would say yes. But even if you can you can go into the hospital to get checked out. The nurses will not think you are a bad person for being cautious. I was in labor for a week and went in everyday. They kept telling me they wanted to admit me but couldn't until I progressed. So if you think you are go in. They can tell you better than anyone else.

There is a pretty good chance of it. I work in the NICU at a hospital and L&D is right down the hall, trust me women come in for much less. They will hook you up to monitors to check the baby and see if you are having contractions. They will probably keep you for a couple hours for observation to determine if you are in labor.

Call your OB/GYN first before making the trip. Contractions usually start out feeling like period cramps. Also, if the baby is positioned a certain way, they can press on the spine and cause back pain.

That sounds like it! Take a drink of water and walk around, if you are in labor, you will be sure of it in about 15 minutes of walking. Call the clinic and any support people. Congrats! Don't wait around for anymore answers, call your Ob's afterhours number.

Yes you are. you could be like that for a couple weeks or so. only a doctor can know how far dilated. i've heard of women staying 2 cm or so for weeks.
