It has no connection with Dan Marino, despite popular belief. :) I just like it.

All you'll ever hear is the connection to Dan Marino, so if you don't want to hear it over and over and over, don't use the name. I'm not crazy about it myself.

to be honest with you i think thats an awesome name. i would love to have that name. Its tough, and unique enough to be noticeable, but not too weird for u to stick out in a crowd. I think marino is an awesome name, a goood choice. note:if not, name your son sean or patrick.....idk why but i'm irish and irish names are perty damn cool.

I think it's ok but agree that if you hate the constant comments about Dan, don't pick it as it'll follow your son through his life.
Maybe have it as a strong middle name and pick something a little softer as his first.
Also if you haven't got italian/spanish roots, it'll look and sound wrong in your family

When people hear it they are going to think of Dan. Yes, too weird.

no. It is cool.

Marion, that'd be tough on a guy. It's been done. But Marino, it sounds sexy and Italian. Go with it.

give him a really matcho middle name that he can use as an alternative---Brian

I think it is a bit too "out there". There are plenty of other names out there which are nicer I feel. I love Matthew Joseph!
