Family Guy and American Dad are not really geared for kids anymore than South Park or Drawn Together.
The Simpsons can be enjoyed by both kids and adults more than the others already mentioned.

None of them are my favorites. I have only seen Simpsons and Family guy. they are both horrible, and completely inappropriate for kids.
