I have two desktop computers. One is connected to my router and cable modem with ethernet, and my other computer has a wireless card and has a printer. I can use the internet on both but there is no network between them and I need to be able to print from both. I tried running the wireless network setup wizard but it doesn't work.. Also it wants me to use my flash drive, which is fine on the computers but it says plug it into my router but, hello, my router doesn't have a damn USB port, how can I set it up then? I mean, I can type the router's IP and log into it, and I named the SSID the same as the network, but it still doesn't work. So is it just the network not working or did I miss something? I did every step.

Windows computers have to be in same Workgroup for peer-to-peer networking.

You should go into My Computer for both computers and set both Workgroups to the same name.

Im going to assume youre running WinXP for the sake of this post.

Run the Home Network Setup Wizard (or something like that)
DON'T use the Wireless Setup Wizard, its not neccesary and a lot more trouble than its worth.

You also don't need to use a flash drive, just hit cancel when you get to that part of the wizard. This is assuming WinXP is on all your computers.

After running the wizard on all your computers check the Network area of your computer, basically My Computer but instead of drives it should list network folders.

After you make sure both computers belong to the same workgroup, share the printer (and give it a share name). Get the IP address of the wireless computer by clicking "start, run, and type "cmd",press enter. When the dos screen appears type "ipconfig", press enter. Your IP address should appear. Go to the other computer and click "start, run, and type the wireless computer's IP address WITH two \\ before the IP. Press enter and the printer should appear. Double click it to install the printer to your wired computer. You can also transfer files through this method.
