Provided there is no associated pain while cracking your joints, you are not doing damage, just releasing small amounts of bubbles between the joints. Pain, if present, is caused by extension of ligaments and tendons, and should be avoided. There is a belief that you will cause arthritis if you keep cracking your joints - this is just a myth.
You are more likely to be killed by someone who hates the sound of you cracking your knuckles. It has been rated as probably one of the most annoying sounds in modern society.

"Cracking" your knuckles is actually "popping" the fluid that is in the joint capsule. This is not really healthy for your joints and can lead to arthritis in the joints. I don't know why you think you need to repair daming in these joints. Do they hurt? You may have damaged the cartilage in the joint. If this is the case, no, you cannot repair cartilage. Cartilage is avascular and does not repair itself. If you have done this, only surgery can repair it.

oh, it's a wives tale that it hurts you and/or causes arthitis. If you're worried about your joints, just stop cracking them!
