I'm only in college but I have suffered from back pain for many years already. But would it be pointless to have the surgury before kids? I mean your breasts get bigger and then can sag after breast feeding so, wouldn't it just make the surgury pointless?

It definitely won't be pointless, especially considering your back pain issues.

I had a reduction done last year and am still planning on having kids. I have no more back pain due to my breasts so it is definitely not pointless.

Here are a few sites to check out:

http://www.breasthealthonline.com (this site helped me out so much, I don't know what I'd do if I didn't have that one before and after my surgery).

http://www.bfar.org (this site talks about breastfeeding after reduction).

No it is fine to have the surgery and then have children. I am having my reduction in 4 weeks time and the first thing that I told my surgeon when I met with him was that I planned on having kids- he said that it is fine. Just image how large they would grow during pregnancy if you didn't have them done. I am a 34G now and pregnancy could make them grow up to a H or J cup, whereas because I am being reduced to a 34D they may only grow to a E or EE during pregnancy.
I am excited for you, I'm excited for myself- it's such a big step but you will love it when you no longer have back pain and no longer look fat and like a bimbo ( thats pretty much a description of me :p ) and have clothes that fit properly. I would sincerely recommend getting it done now, I don't know what size you are but I would not want your breasts to get as large as mine- I have the beginning of curvature of the spine, bruising externally and internally to my ribs, rashes under my breasts and a very knotted back. Have it done now and then enjoy your new boobs for a few years before you do have children.

Good luck :)

If you are having back pain from overly large and pendulous breasts, no it wouldn't be pointless. Your breasts sag as you get older whether you breast feed or not. Better to have it done now than to wait until you have stretch marks and poor posture from the back pain. Too, insurance companies are very tough on pre-existing conditions and are taking a closer look before pre-approving some procedures. So right now you're probably on your parent's insurance. Once you're out of college, you won't be on their insurance anymore.

Find a really good plastic surgeon who has a solid reputation in your community. This is not the place to skimp. He can explain the pros and cons of this procedure to you in greater detail. Most plastic surgeons have photograph albums or portfolios of their work. He should be proud to show them to you, if he's not, go elsewhere. Good luck.

In my opinon, it would be good to do it now. Yes you may have a little sagging post breast feeding but most breast reductions are needed to help with the back..Just imagine carrying another 15 lbs in front how uncomfortable you will be. I have personally seen these work very well pre childbearing...

i could say carry off till you have youngsters for specific! my friends all have particularly super breast and that they breastfed and now they have long dishevelled squash like boobs lol I breastfed yet I fairly have small boobs and gravity is on my area so there is fairly not something to sag haha i'm a small b and characteristic been my breast have been given somewhat larger with my being pregnant however the went backtrack to a small b back. i would not spend each and all of the money on the surgical treatment b/c in the event that they're larger they might have greater of a raffle to sag somewhat.

Not if it is something you really want to do, can afford to do, and will improve your health and happiness. Who knows when you will have kids. When you're all done with having babies and nursing you can just go in for a little lift. Until then, make sure you are wearing the right size bra. Get properly fitted and make sure your bras have super wide straps.
