AVG free is not that good.
Let me give you reasons.
The interface is not good.
Bogs down your system resources.
Hogs start-up time.
Large updates.
Annoying pop-ups.
No support.
Got a score of 82.6% on av tests.
Now lets look at avast! Home edition (Also free)
The interface is slick and skinnable.
Doesnot hog down boot-up time when I used AVG free my boot up time was 1min. now when I use avast! its 16 seconds.
Wil not slow down your computer.
Will act as a firewall
Small updates.
No pop-ups.
Virus recovery database generator.
Scans everything before you open it and you want even notice it running.
Now What more could you want from free!
They also provide great support for avast!.

DONT GET IT its terrirble get Norton 360 AVG is the worst ever!

Its a good free trial, they do intend for you to buy the long version however.

its the best....highly rated by the pc mags...no reason to spend big bucks for one that isnt much better....
