Does downloading "Smiley" make my computer slow and why?

I get the smileys from SMILEY CENTRAL

A computer tech came to my home a few years ago to fix my slow computer.he deleted smiley central without telling me he was deleting it.When I noticed it was deleted a few hours later I called him and asked why did he delete it.He said well mam is your computer slow anymore,I said no.He said of course it is not slow since smiley cental was deleted.He said smiley central comes with spyware and sometimes worst.

probably there is a lot of crap that gets downloaded with that, I would suggest uninstalling it and anything that came with it like IE toolbars and so fourth and then going to www.filehippo.com and downloading CCleaner and running that a couple of times run both the cleaner option and the issues option this will clean any crud from ur computer. You can also download spybot search and destroy from this site, and ad-aware se these are both good programs to have, alot of people like AVG but I think Avast antivirus is better it is self supporting and stop any viruses before u get them, unlike AVG can also get avast from filehippo

They put spyware and adware on your computer. Had to teach my old man this cause he likes to download crap for ecards smileys, cursor stuff..etc.. Get a good virus blocker cause alot fo them are also filled with viruses.. AVG free is a good one you can download it will take viruses off your computer block pop ups and adware and spyware. Its free to use and installs in minutes. Good luck.

omg , do not download smilies , yes they make your pc slow and yes they contain adware and spyware ,if u want to wreck your pc go ahead , but you shouldnt download them. They can also contain virus's. Smilies software installs spyware into your computer , that's why u get all the pop ups , and worst , they can hack your browser.
