How do you change the password for the playstation?

im trying to watch a movie but it says i need a password to change it to level 8 please help

If you want to change the password then follow these instruction:
1. At the code input screen put in 7444, I know it is wrong but just do it.
2. It wll tell you it is the wrong code, press select on your control and then type in 7444 again.
3. After doing this you should be able to input a new code of your own.

Now if you want to take off the parental controls from asking for passwords everytime then follow these instructions.

1. Put in your dvd, preferrably an R rated on.
2. It will ask you to change the setting level to level 8 yada yada yada...
3. Put in your code as usual.
4. When the movie starts up just press the stop button twice.
5. You should see sony's on screen display come out and see all that crap on it like pause, play and all that other junk.
6. On their display above the pause button is, tada, the setup button, go there.
7.Move right till you get to custom setup.
8. Go down twice and you will be asked to enter your code.
9. click into the level and change it to off, and there you have it, no more parental control password for every dvd you try to watch.
