Kobe is the man

2007-03-18 17:39:09 · answer #1 · answered by scorer 4 · 1 3

I doubt it. He might be amongst the greatest but there are others like MJ and Shaq who could also arguably be considered the gr8test ever. Btw, here's a little footnote for you:

Bryant became the first Lakers player with consecutive games of 50 or more points since December 1962, when Elgin Baylor did it in three straight games.

Only two other players have recorded back-to-back 50-point games in the last 10 years. Antawn Jamison did it in December 2000 against Seattle and the Lakers (51-51), and Allen Iverson did it in December 2004 against Milwaukee and Utah (54-51).

just because he scored 65 and 50 two games in a row dont mean he is the best ever. Wilt Chamberlain scored 60+ or more 32 times in his career and also averaged 50 ppg for an entire season. Kobe scored 82pts last year so im not suprise to see the points outburst since the lakers been in a slump.

How does scoring points equate to the best basketball player? I could see what you meant if you said greatest scorer or something like that. However last I checked basketball conisted of more then just scoreing. You know rebounding, defending, assist's. And those are just the stats. What about all the small things that great players do that don't show up on the stat sheet. MAybe before you ask such a dimwited question you should fully understand the game.

Nope, kobe has 3 games scoring more than 60 points.

Wilt ( the stilt) Chamberlian scored more than 60 points over 32 times. !!!!!!!!!

He also averaged 50.4 points a game for the entire season in 1961-1962 !!!!!!

He was the only player to ever score 100 points in a NBA game.

In 1962 in Januray, Wilt scored :

73 points on the 13th
62 points on the 14th
62 polints on the 17th
62 points on the 21st

In Feburary, he was even better:

65 points on the 13th
67 points on the 17th
61 points on the 22nd
67 points on the 25th
65 points on the 27th
61 points on the 28th

This while also with a career rebound average of 22.9 rebounds a game.

not even close.. he is still a selfish player. All kinds of players are better then kobe because they know what it takes to win and how to play a team game. I know kobe won, but if oneil wasn't on those teams kobe would still be looking for a ring.. don't get me wrong he is a good player, but not even close to being the best ever!!

Yes his the best basketball player of all time and no one even Micheal is even close to him. His 28 and his taking the role of a leader. He took one of the youngest team in the NBA to the playoffs and almost to the second round. The guy is amazing and will get better once his at his prime. His just 28, I can't believe how amazing he will be once he becomes 30 or 31.

No way. 2 games over 50 points do not make "the best player ever". Wilt had 7 consecutive over 50 points and AVERAGED 50.4 in one season, and he's not considered the "best player ever".

You must be a child. Only a 10 year old can be this ignorant. Talk to an adult who the best player ever was. Points don't equal greatness. Kobe isn't even the best Laker ever.

No, not even close really.
First, scoring doesn't mean as much unless your team wins.
Second, Wilt Chamberlain owns all the records.
Third, he chased Shaq off the Lakers.
Fourth, he played while he was on trial for rape.
He is an overrated loser with no sense of shame or morals.
Today he's even dirty, trying to smack other players.
Get a better hero.
