Let's just say I played Space Invaders on big consoles in bars. Atari home machines didn't come out till the early 80's, in 1971 there was mechanical pinball but no electronic games. Even radios and stereos had vaccuum tubes back then. 71 was early in the electronic age, trust me, I was there. Atari started as a company in 72 but didn't have a product on the market until 78-79.

Well, I recall my family getting an Atari when I was in junior high, around age 13 or so. This would have been around 1981. But I don't know when the Atari actually came out - we may have been behind the times.
