Bacteria are procaryotic cells (without a nucleus and some other cellular structures) and mold is composed of eucaryotic cells (has a nucleus and the organelles you learned about in biology class). Bacteria can either be photosynthetic or non-photosynthetic. The photosynthetic bact can make their own food in the presence of light and the non-photosynthetic need a food source to consume. All molds (and all fungi) are consumers--none can make their own food. Bacteria grow and reproduce by simple cellular division. Molds reproduce asexually by making spores.
