first step is to switch to leather. it is more durable and will wear better. your feet will begin to stink in the plastic shoes before long.
treat the leather with a water repellant and then use a good leather cleaner and polish.
invest in good shoes -your whole body depends on your feet.

Take some hair spray and spray it on them, and than wipe them off like you are going to shine your shoes.
