I'm a lady and ignore the insult. Why give the person the pleasure knowing that they hurt my feelings.

Well it depends on the person and insult. If you the know the person who insulted you is jerk and has problems with themselves. And if it out of anger remember half the stuff people say when they're angry they don't mean, they only mean it if their drunk.

depends on wheter or not i can take them in a fight, lol. If yes, then i hurl a better insult back, if not, than will, i just ignore it. I know i should always ignore, but i can't help it, I just love the smell of crushed egos in the morning ( ^_~)

Ignore it and react like they didn't say anything or just smile. No reaction is the best reaction. It p*sses the insulter off more then a bad reaction.

If it's on here, I just give a negative rating & carry on with my biz. Especially if you don't know the person, no-one is worth the aggravation of getting yourself all upset.
If it's someone you know & they're saying it to your face... I'd call them on it. Not in an aggressive way, though. I would just say 'that was really uncalled for'.... & again I'd carry on with my biz.
Find someone else to converse with that isn't such an a**hole.

The mature thing would be to say that it doesn't bother me...but sometimes people make me really angry. Sometimes I yell, call them names, plot revenge (forgive me Lord) etc. My favorite is to say something really hurtful and truthful back.
I don't do that so much anymore. It takes me to a place that I don't want to be.
