I'm 19 years old got an MIP, I asked the police officer if it would go on my record he said no it wouldn't, if it is on my record can I contest it due to that? I got a 125.00 ticket and that was it, I didn't have to go to court or anything, any help would be appreciated.

Usually - I'm in a licensing dept, and we always get background checks back with people convicted of MIP. We get responses back from all the states plus outside the US, and at least 30 states show that charge or an equivalent.

It depends on which State you're in. In some states, an MIP is an infraction. In other states, it's a fine-only misdemeanor. I believe all misdemeanors appear on your record. You should check with your county court clerks office and ask the court clerk about the violation (you'll need to cite the code and section number) and ask her your question. She should be able to help.
