In fact, what would you consider as excellent service at a bar, club or pub? Any examples or experiences? Thanks!

A bartender that sees you back and gets the drink instead of ignoring you, servers who come around to the tables at a club before your drink is done to see if you want another, servers who come around with those shot things in test tubes, freebies occasionally, new cocktail napkins when the old ones are soaked. And when the employees remember you and your name and give you the best service. It's all about the service.

I am also a bit short, and i always find it difficult to catch the bartenders eye to order a drink. Fast service in getting my drinks and refills would be excellent service in a bar.

The bartender perparing the drink in front of you is good service becuase you can see the amount of alcohol that is going into your $10 drink. Some bartender can rip you off but using the tap-which I hate.

when i was a server i tried using the same service that i would like to receive kind of like treat others how you would like to be treated. i tried my darn hardest to always get to my tables before they ran out and if it was slow or i had a bit of time i would chat it up...i had a lot of regulars so i got to know them really well and yah now joke around and get the drinks even before they needed to order. cause most of the guys i had never changed the beer they drank.

Definitely a waitress that asks me if I would like something else just before my drink runs out.
Having to wait forever with an empty glass is not fun.

fast service is the key. Tha attitude helps, but in crowded bars, there is no time for that, and those who dont understand it, are just lousy clients.

i'm 4' 11'' so when i am seen over the sometimes very high bar, i think it's great service!

when i am treated like a guest at someone's home. For example the way you would take care of your girl friend's father right before you asked for her hand in marriage.
