what buttons do you press to see your laptop desktop on a pc monitor once your connected i think its f5 and ctrl but im not sure. I connected my laptop to the monitor i just need to know how i can see my laptop display on the monitor because the monitor is blank.

Your laptop should have an FN (stands for function) button. Look closely at your other function keys like F3 or F4. There should be a little picture that looks like a monitor or a screen.
Simply hold the FN key down and tap the function key you identified above. The first time you do this, it should take the picture over to the monitor only. The next time you do this, it will show on both screens. The third time takes it back to the laptop only.
On HP laptops for example, it's usually FN and F4 at the same time.

With the USB cord on your laptop with the monitor.
