Genetics are always my favorite topic as far as biology is of concern. There's an array of topics to choose from that one particular subject so as genetic engineering (those who wants to choose the sex of their embryo to future generations of the "perfect" child and the moral implication behind all that).
Also, you can cover a topic about genetic anomaly such as trisomy 13 or 18 or basically anything that people use to see in the circus (the freak shows - now they are nonexistent thanks to science and the publics awareness that these people suffer from some genetic mutation). Some examples are those who suffers from craniofacial abnormalities, cleft palate, etc.
Oh cloning is always an exciting topic huh?

You should do it on genetically modified organisms... called "GMO's", what they are & how they are made, how they are used, and what the controversy is that surrounds them. there ya go, three paragraphs for the body :)
