I'd go....most of the people i know that didnt' go to college were too afraid to leave their friends behind at home....seems like you have that issue taken care of though.
Anyways, it does give you more oppertunities......and its a chance to start fresh which may help with the unhappiness...
Only problem i can see is whatever is making you unhappy doesn't get fixed by going away...and it becomes worse....make sure you know the source of your problem and plan how to fix it.
I personally like my school though, has about 40,000 at this campus. 90k if you count the branches. Thing i hated about highschool was the cliquiness......everyone knows everything about you...... big schools you can just get lost in it and no one cares. I liked that.
Also, in the end....i know a bunch of people have tons of fone numbers.....i only ever really call about 3 people.

I believe that you should go to college. College is a place where you are able to learn and obtain information not only from your professors, but also your peers. You are able to meet so many new people, it is incredible to see and hear what everyone else has been up to in their years of existence.
I came from a High School of 470 students, and was able to make friends with everyone. A college of 800, you should have no problem making friends, as long as you are outgoing and don't try NOT to make any friends (becoming a "Hobbit" as some would call it). As you make more friends, you are prone to become a happier person. Once you are happy, and outgoing, almost everything else will fall into place.

One of the hardest parts of life is learning how to move outside of your comfort zone. I think college can be a great time for you to learn how to do that. When you go to a college a few hours from home, chances are you won't know anyone, and you'll start with a clean slate. You'll be able to meet new people and try out activities that maybe you haven't before.
I was pretty shy in high school, but once I got to college, I met people who were interested in the same things I am, and I learned how to make friends a lot more easily. I got a lot more comfortable talking to people I didn't know well, both in classroom and social settings, and I gradually became more outgoing.
At a school that small, chances are you'll get to recognize a lot of people, but don't feel like every one of them has to be your friend. It can be nice just to pass somebody and nod and say hi. Go visit the school with your parents; chances are as soon as you get there you'll be able to tell whether or not it's going to be home.
Good luck.

yes, you should go to college. there's really no reason not to (unless you really don't have the money... but there's always student loans to fix that problem). If you have the opportunity to go to college and learn more, your choice should always be yes... regardless of whether you make friends there, you'll be happy that you're learning more. And like the other guy said, friends aren't all they're cracked up to be. I had a lot in undergrad, but we all went different places after graduation and now I pretty much only have my 1 high school friend who I'm still really close to. I have a few new law school friends, but nothing like my one friend... i guess i don't really have time for friends though... law school keeps me pretty busy.

Any time you can go to college go. So what you only have a few friends that just means that you are a little picky and I bet the ones you do have are good friends. So don't pick on yourself I am 50 and only have a few friends and don't want any more.
