I would say 15-20%. For the $5 bill, I would tip over 20%, maybe $3 or $4 if it was good service. However, for a pricey restaurant, it gets too expensive, so 20% is the max. I will tip 10% or less if the service is really bad (forgetting drinks, waiting for the bill, wrong orders, etc).

I tip fairly well. If the girl is having difficult customers. I leave 10 bucks . Sometimes 50% tip if the other people are nasty and she is nice. I work in food service and don't get tips so I know what they have to go through/the most I ever left was 27 and it was my brothers girlfriend.

1. 4.40 - Round to $10
2. 3.10 - I never leave less than a $3 tip, and I'll round to $13
3. 4.50
4. 4.50 - I want good service when I come back, if the service is BAD, I won't leave a tip or I'll talk to mgmt.
5. 25.00

I always remember that service providers don't make a lot of money and depend heavily on tips.
