My husband and I have an online/offline retail business that might work for you. I can't give you details here since it's against the rules of this site but send me an email if you'd like more information.

All the physical products/ services industry has got a very little profit margin (around 25-40%). Where as if you think of an information marketing business (which you can operate from any part of the world- like I from India 7 at any time) has got an unbelievable 40-75% profit margin. Even the investment requred is also a very little compaed to traditional business pattern.

If you can do it on the internet, lots of business that can be started with small capitol and lots of hard work, and not necesarrily ebay. Go to HOmestead.com and see what people have done there. Cafe press in another one...just need to know how to get your site on the search engine with lots of visitors. Link to sites with similar businesses (with their permission) increases your exposure on the search engine. Find something you like. Ebay is overated these days unless you are selling something very unique.
You could also work out of your home doing the same thing as you did online. Use a spare room. What are you good at?
Crafts, unusual items, or buy things that will resell well. research your subject first.
I used to do specialty clothing online and locally out of my home and I did have a license. Makes it easier.

I love my career and I do it from home, so I can pretty much set my own hours. I do alot of it at night when my kids are asleep as it is mostly computer work. I work in the health care field with a really great company. They offer a 401k and benefits plan as well as full training and support. There is very good money involved. I would be happy to answer any questions if it sounds as if it may work for you.
