This is my first time playing so any advice will be appreciated. I just traded for Pujols, Freddy Sanchez and Wagner for Manny Ramirez, Jimmy Rollins and BJ Ryan.

My team looks like this:
C Michael Barrett
1B Albert Pujols
2B Robinson Cano
3B A. Rod
SS Freddy Sanchez
OF Rocco Baldelli
OF Raul Ibanez
OF Dave Roberts
Ut 3B Garrett Atkins

BN.
2B Ray Durham
1B Richie Sexson
1B, 3B Shea Hillenbrand
Ut Frank Thomas

My pitching:

SP John Lackey
SP Chris Young
SP Mike Mussina
SP Rich Hill
SP Ervin Santana
SP Scott Olsen

RP/SPJosh Johnson
RP Billy Wagner

What are my weak links? Who should I trade away? What should I do to improve this team?

do not boost your pitching.its beastly. even though there are some youngtsers you should watch out for. get rid of josh johnson. hes injured. i think you need to trade your entire bench. they all suck. sexson is the ebst guy there. durham will not repeat cuz hes way too old, andthomas cant stay healthy.. i think you trade off like say arod for like a say ichiro, andruw jones combo. your outfield is so bad its not even funny. so your tema is pretty bad. unless thats a 14 team or higher leaue, you did really really bad

I would not traded Pujols for anybody, but since the transaction has been made, I would do my best to give you this suggestion:

-Getting B.J. Ryan is not going to solve your SV woes if you gave Billy Wagner in the deal also, which is why your weakest link might be your closers. A-Rod might be your best trade bait with Garret Atkins and Frank Thomas in your roster and the best way to get some power back that you lost in the Pujols trade is to trade for Ryan Howard. There's not any necessties to keep Durham or Hillenbrand on your roster, so I would get someone like Joe Borowski and Seth McClung to fill your closer needs. So your roster would end up looking like this:

C Michael Barrett
1B Ryan Howard
2B Robinson Cano
3B Garrett Atkins
SS Jimmy Rollins
OF Manny Ramirez
OF Rocco Baldelli
OF Raul Ibanez
Util Frank Thomas

BN: Richie Sexson

Pitchers:

SP John Lackey
SP Chris Young
RP B.J. Ryan
RP Joe Borowski
SP Mike Mussina
SP Rich Hill

BN
Ervin Santana
Scott Olsen
Josh Johnson
Seth McClung

Now that's a roster that spells playoff contender.

Your OF is dreadful without Manny, and Johnson belongs on the waiver wire. So trade from strength to bolster your weaknesses. Send A-rod packing for an elite outfielder (at least a Matt Holliday/ Jay Bay type) and a really solid RP (Hoffman/ Putz type). Just make sure that the trades that you offer make sense for both sides. Don't bother with the "I'm going to offer fifty trades that all make sense only for me, and hope that someone out there is an idiot." type of offers.

If you want, instead of trading A-rod, you can try to deal Atkins, just knock everyone down a notch. Instead of a Holliday or Bay, try for a Matsui or Dye type. Instead of a Putz or Hoffman, try for a Chris Ray type. I'd try to deal Arod first, though.

Hope this helps. Enjoy the season.
