The greatest guitarist of all time to me is David Gilmour (from Pink Floyd). I have not heard anyone play it quite like him. Some great examples of his work can be found in the Floyd tracks, "Time", "Comfortably Numb", "Marooned", "Shine on You Crazy Diamond" , and several others. Simply amazing, beautiful, and stuns me every time I hear his work in a Floyd, or solo, piece.

Other than that, I like Peter Frampton. A lot of people say that Jimi Hendrix is the best. Personally, I disagree, as I consider his playing to be very sloppy in nature.
