First of all, how does a bunny work? That's kinda odd. Didn't the place where you got it give you tips? They eat a lot of veggies, carrots, grass, leaves, lettuce, etc. and they drink water like any other animal. I'd leave it in a metal cage, they can be mean and scratch the hell out of your arm. Grab it by the ears and hold it away from you. If you have an enclosed yard you can leave it back there and they will live forever.

We were in the same situation 2 years ago...got two rabbits and knew nothing about them! What we did and it worked, was to buy a book, Rabbits for Dummies and I read it cover to cover and I searched the web. I got tips on care (briefly, always have grass hay [alfalfa too for babies] and fresh water available, feed plain pellets, let them run around in a rabbit proof room for 2-3 hours day, and they can be litter box trained, but don't use cedar or pine shavings). The other thing is that most advice you'll get from the pet store is WRONG.
They are wonderful pets, and as a prey animal generally do not like being picked up, but ours love to be petted when they want to.
Here are some links that should get you started and good that you are doing your homework:

rabbits are easy to keep i have no clue why pople whould answer negitively. Hopefully your new bunny is a baby and tame it's it not get rid of it. First off do you have a room or area that the bunny can roam free in? This kind of area would be free from cords or chewable belongings, if so you can purchase a smaller cheap cage and allow the rabbit access to the room with a litter box in one of the corners, if you have to keep it caged most of the time then buy the biggest cage with a flat plastic or metal bottom stir clear of wire floored cages they mess with a rabbits feet. you can put a litter box in the cage and most rabbits use that and not the rest of the cage:). When you buy the cage you can see the other things you will need for the rabbit like pellets and treats, rabbits like fresh greens, most of the ones at the grocery store, but standard pellets are required. If you have to keep the rabbit in the cage most of the time then be sure to allow it freedom while you are home or ask a pet store associate about pens that would allow a rabbit some hopping room.
Rabbits can never be picked up by the ears, but there is loose skin at the back of the neck like a kitten or puppy, you sould support the bottom with your other hand.
rabbits ususally space out a bit when they are put on there back, i have no clue why? but while the rabbit is on it's back you can cut the sharp nails regularly being carful not to cut the pink vein that is in the nail.
note if you ignore and leave the rabbit caged all the time they will hop in circes and make a bunch of noise, also if you fail to keep the litter box or cage clean the smell is quite sickning

i give my bunny free roam on the balcony. watch for predators!! my bunny has cardboard boxes with newspapers wadded in it, a small plastic house, a little box, and a small dog house which i stuff with straw (and replace often). they are hardy and don't like pens or hutches much.
feed your rabbit lots of fresh leafy greens, timothy hay, and lots of water. limit the fruits and carrots.
each rabbit is different and you will have fun learning about yours and what it likes/dislikes. they often growl when they play and like to bite or lick your hand because it's salty. try not to startle your rabbit.
for toys, toss more cardboard in it's play area -boxes, toilet paper and paper towel tubes. i give mine plywood cuz it will chew everything, so keep plastic and electric things away.
give it plenty of shade in the summer and small, dry places to burrow in the winter.
