Moral issue. A shop might be a mom and pop organisation and stealing their cash could cause their business to fail. Robing bank may not be as catastrophic for that business.
But no, I wouldn't gamble on wasting six years of my life by being caught.
A neighbor boy back home had come down with a nervous condition, ulcers, couldn't sleep, etc. Comes to find out, he robbed another neighbor's house at Christmas time and the worry was killing him. He finally was found out and caught.
So, the best way to not get caught is to not do it in the first place.

one 3 hundred and sixty 5 days i replaced into procuring some Christmas can provide for my son at purpose. between the flaws that I put in my cart replaced right into a Swiss military knife. it really is a pink knife, in a pink equipment, sitting in a pink cart. the position replaced into loopy busy, and when I placed my stuff on the counter to envision out, I neglected the knife. when I were given to the automobile, I said it, yet even then i presumed it had in simple terms fallen out of my sack. It wasn't till i began reckoning on the receipt that i realized what had occurred. I despatched them a be conscious with a money order connected, explaining what had occurred. the manager wrote again, thanked me for being honest, instructed me to have a cheerful Christmas - and again the money order!

5 or 6 years in prison?? You don't live in the UK do you?
A shoplifter would probably be LET OFF (cautioned) for his first offence, be given a £10 fine (less than the value of the goods he stole) the second time and even after 5 offences would be given around 2 days community service....We look after our criminals in the UK.(victims-no,criminals-yes.)
To answer your question..NO I WOULD NOT..I've been brought up by loving parents who taught me Christian values.

Practicallity wise...
I really don't think it would be a wise thing to do.
Your life would always have a black mark on it, you'd never be able to live normally again, then you'd be stuck in a spiralling trap of crime, prison, crime.
Morally, it is a no brainer - don't do it.
