I currently have a freshwater aquarium but struggle to easily clean some parts of the filter because they are innaccessible to my fingers or my q-tips i currenly use to scrape the intricate parts of it.

I'm looking for one of those scrub things that look like my metal rod with soft spikes around it. Anyone have a link to an online store which features those or an idea on what else I could use?

Thanks!

A coil brush is what you are looking for...you definitely need this..essential cleaning tool. I use them for every single part of my filters when i clean them.

I've been waiting for this question! I'm not too clear exactly which part your 're describing, but I assume you mean the long tube that extends into the aquarium, that the water travels up and into the filter by. When the curved, top piece of this tube gets dirty in my tank, I take the tube that goes into the aquarium off, and pour a small amount of the fine aquarium gravel into the curved section. Add a bit of water, put one finger in each end of the tube, and give it a shake or five. The gravel acts as a super abrasive, and removes any scum, algae, etc. Once it's clean, just tip the gravel out, and reconnect the pieces. It really works!
Hope that was a help.

tiny bottle brush or old toothbrush or even hairbrush if the bristles are long enough to reach into where you're trying to get at. Good luck.
