I don't mean to gloat. I'm just going to a rough period myself (see my other questions to get an idea) and could use some inspiration on how to get past this.

There have been many tough things I've had to do. The last
was to make a long drive home to tell my 81-yr old father that
my brother had passed away. I asked God to give me the strength and the right words to tell him. He is very frail. It was
very hard to do.

For me, I think it was when my son was born, and I realized that my husband (who is now my EX husband!!!) wasn't going to be much of a father, and wasn't going to do much to help me. I tried to hold in my mind the thought of my son, how I wanted him to be treated, and how much I loved him, despite the trials of raising him (he was no more difficult than any other child, as far as I know). I simply did it day by day, and did what needed to be done. Now he's 26 years old, a successful mechanical engineer, and I couldn't he prouder of him!

getting beaten up by an exboyfriend. i felt as if i had reached a low that i had never known before. especially because it lasted hours. i got over it by choosing that that was what i needed to do because i was smart enough to not let him win. it just takes time. everyone is so impatient. baby steps.

I think my divorce - close would be my father's health. Prayer and my faith in God to get me through each minute. Support of friends helps, too.
