When I was working and had money in the savings account, they mailed me this letter every month saying they charged $3 a month for service. There hasn't been any money in my account for 3 months now. Is my account still active or did they automatically canceled it? Or even worse, will it mess up my credit or something?

If you do not need it anymore.

GO and CLOSE it.

Otherwise you are just adding liability for you.

Banker is just adding monthly charges
to your a/c.....

It is your responsibility to close it and
get out of any liability ......

Doubtful that it is open and doubtful it will effect your credit. Federal Savings & Loans laws mandate how much or lack of activity can take place on a savings account. Mine was almost closed for withdrawaling too much money!

they may still charge you the three dollars every month with no money in there at all. in that case, you owe them some money. you should just call the customer service number. you should definitely close it yourself if it is still open.

Go cancel it yourself and pay off any little fees that have added up. Don't assume the bank will do that for you or that the fees won't continue.

The account is still probablly open. They will still carge you the back fees, so I would close it if your not going to use it.
