I used it few yrs ago when i was a teenager. It didnt work for me. Made no noticeable changes.
I do not believe in a cure for acne. I believe acne just takes its time and goes away by itself. I had it from age 17 to age 19 and by the time I wsa 20 it just vanished by itself.

The active ingredient in Proactive is a medication that can be bought for under$5.00 in any drug store and is called "Benzyl Peroxide"(the active ingredient in Oxy 5 and Clearisil). Unfortunately, even though Benzyl Peroxide kills the bacteria that causes acne (yes it is caused by an infection, not chocolate or "blocked pores") the bacteria become resistant to it and it stops working. My suggestion would be the save the $20 or $30 a bottle for the stuff, go to your Dr. and have your parents insurance pay for a prescription medication such as Benzamycin (benzyl peroxide and erythromycin) which your Dr. can prescribe. Proactive is an expensive Gimmick. (i'm sure all the actresses that promote it also are prescribed prescription acne cream by their Dermatologists). Hope this answers the question

I started using it about 5 years ago, but I didn't really see a difference. When I called to send back the stuff and explained why, they offered me a stronger version. I tried it and it was awesome. Clear skin like never before in my life. Am a big fan! Have been using since!

My roomate uses it and her face did a 360! I was amazed! If you have acne USE IT ITS WORTH IT. Her confidence has gone up so much and she looks great! I was under stress and broke out a little and borrowed some from her and it made my face a little dry I must admit but I put some face cream on afterwards and no problems at all. The stuff is amazing!

I purchased it for my daughters and it works great as long as they use it daily and not miss a lot of days and they haven't had any side effects and it worked better than the doctor rx'd stuff and alot cheaper.

I have, I started using it about 2 years ago. When I first started, it took my skin about 2 months (long horrible months) to adjust, and then it was perfect!!! It is important to do it everyday, morning and night without fail. But listen, a couple of months ago, i started to break out again.. it was like my skin had stopped reacting to it. My skin is still not as bad as it was before I started, but its not great. So, thats my experience.

My 13 year old son uses it and it made a world of difference. No side effects except that he said his skin felt "slimy" after using it (boys aren't used to all the sludge we ladies are used to putting on our faces! LOL!) I'd recommend it to anyone.

I use it. Works great for me!
Nothing works for me but that.
If you try using peroxide every day, and see some results, then proactiv will probably work for you.
I have had no side effects in the years i have used it.

I've used it before. It works, but I don't like what the texture is, other than that, I noticed no side effects!

works great, although i always seemed to run out of the cleansing soap before anything else. I have since started using Neutrogena with equal results.
