i want to get put on an anti-depressant other than Paxcil CR, so that i can continue being on anti-depressants w/o hurting my baby.

Defiantly consult with your PCP. He needs to draw blood and do certain test. He can also do the blood test for pregnancy cheaper than a gynecologist.

In your shoes, I would go see my ob/gyn for preconception testing, and discuss the options I had that were pregnancy-safe with him or her. At the very least, a phone call to the office should help. Then, I'd go see the doctor who prescribed the anti-depressants, and discuss with him or her the options that the ob/gyn offered, and what would best suit your needs and situation.

I would recommend seeing your family doctor prior to trying to conceive. It is important to ask all questions about meds asap. I would also suggest starting folic acid and a good multi vitamin too.
