She thinks She's protecting Clark because Lionel threatened to destroy Clark if Lana backed out. Even after seeing what Clark is capable of She actually thinks Lionel could destroy Him.
If She had alittle Faith in the Man She really loves, She might not be a Luthor Concubine now.

i don't be conscious of,perchance. because all of us be conscious of who Clark supposedly finally ends up with later on. If Lex and Lana get married i don't believe of Clark and Lex will be associates again. it ought to likely in simple terms make issues worse between them.

She married lex because she was threatened by lionel who caught her writing a letter breaking off the engagement. Lionel found out that she knew Clark's secret and said that if she didnt marry lex he knew Clark's weakness and he would kill clark.

She's a nice person and she said Lex was the one person who has been truthful to her. I think it was her way of subconciously getting back at Clark. Wasn't it so sad to see Clark's face as she drove away and knowing how thats not what she wanted to do? It was so sad.

b/c in the original Superman storyline, Lana is Clark's friend. Not wife, not ex wife. Also, Lionel knows how to kill Superman with kryptonite. His threat was valid.
