What I want to know is would the annishanbee people(native american)give a native name to a white person?

Possibly, if you were adopted and brought up as a native woman.

In the case that you actually already had good friends among the Annishanbee, enough so that someone thought of you like family...in that case it's possible that someone might nickname you something in their language.

But beyond that it is highly doubtful that a name could just be randomly handed out...any that are, as I am told, are probably not legit and probably a disrespect to the culture.

You'd have to ask an Anishinaabe person. I don't know, they're not my people. I'm Eastern Cherokee, and we tend to give our friends nicknames if we're speaking Cherokee, or just use their English name.


That gal who used the "S" word has been reported as well. That's a disrespectful, DISGUSTING thing to call us Native women!!! It's like using the N word, really. (Thanks Nick :)
