I did the flame test lab in chemistry, and I am having a hard time with some of the questions. Any help will be greatly appreciated! :]

1.Is flame coloration a test for the metallic ion of for the nitrate ion?

2. Why do dry sodium chloride and the solutions of sodium nitrate and sodium chloride all impart the same color to the flame?

3.How would you characterize the flame test with respect to its sensitivity?

4.Several flame testes were shades of red. What should eb done in the lab to correctly identify one of these ions?

5.During a flood, the labels from 3 bottles of chemicals floated away. The unlabeled bottles of white solids were known to contain the following: strontium nitrate, ammonium carbonate, and potassium sulfate. Explain how you could easliy relabel these 3 bottles.

6. Decribe the activity of electrons when a substance is vaporized in a flame. What is viewed through a spectoscope and how does this intrument serve in identifying substances.

Ok, I think you should ask your teacher for help or at least attempt the answers on your own first.
I'll give u a few hints, not promising I'm right, but this is what I think...

#2. The fact they ALL have the word "sodium" in it MAY be an indicator...
#5. Since u JUST did a flame test lab...probably that might help a wee bit.
