This result was predicted by a lot of experts including the Bangladeshi captain. It's not like India collapsed or anything, they had 6 wickets in hand in the 40th over. Truth is that India tried their best and was not able to match the Tigers on this given day. They got outclassed in every section of the game. C'mon now "Neighbours", don't be shy to show respect where it's due! I'm Bangladeshi as u may have figured out by now and I'm not here to tease or start a war of words. But the Indian media (except for Calcutta) is acting like India just had one bad day, where the truth is we are ready to compete with any team on a day to day basis, India included!

The question you asked is a very good one.

The Bangladeshis have been making progress in their cricket over the last few years and the hard work that they have put in is beginning to pay off. Kudos to them for this fantastic win! Everyone, including the media, should give them the props which they deserve instead of making it look as though India lost to a second rated team. In fact, Bangladesh is a good team and can compete with the best on any given day. The game of cricket is the winner here and all should respect these acheivements (also the Irish win over Pakistan).

I am a West Indian, and I love cricket and I want the sport to continue to grow globally. I am happy to see associate ICC teams such as Ireland making inroads and competing well at this level. I understand the teams from asia (especially Pakistan & India) are very passionate about their cricket.....but please give the Bangladeshis and Irish a break! The teams that played better on that day won.

BTW congratulations to your team for a job well done!

Over Expectation. Patriotism getting confused with defeat in Sports.

All the Media hype is another reason. When Laxman did not have any thing to say in front of a mike from a TV crew they ran headlines "Laxman will not comment about Selectors" giving it a negative connotation!

Heard of the Biggest hype about the Clash of the Titans on 15th April - India vs Pakistan in the World Cup. Pakistan is OUT of the Tournament!

India hoping to make it to the Super 8 by defeating Sri Lanka on 23rd. [Today - 19Th is the Match against Bermuda. Let us hope we won't be beaten by them!]

Becuase now it harder for india to get into the super 8 and india were havily favored to win. All the india's fans are upset since they let the whole nation down by starting with a loss.

Indians seem to be more upset at their own team even wishing death upon players! Don't they know how bad it looks to the rest of the world how they are reacting over a loss in a GAME? It just proves that Indians are greedy and can't handle defeat.

The fact is, cricket is just another game! On a given day, the team that plays better game as a team, wins! If both play really well, it's a tie, as we saw the other day!
