I go back to the doctor in one week and I will be 33 weeks pregnant. I haven't had an ultrasound since I was 14 weeks pregnant and they said the baby looked like it was a boy. I was wondering if I ask the doctor for another ultrasound if he is likely to do one? I want to make sure the baby is looking ok at this point in the pregnancy and to see if it still shows signs of being a boy. Has anyone else requested an ultrasound and got one? Please let me know, thank you...

This is probably not right but if you cant tell what the baby is wait a couple of weeks and then tell your doctor that you are having cramps and you dont feel quite right and tell him that you want another ultrasound. I know that it is a white lie but it wont hurt the baby and it is real no big deal for them to do another ultrasound.I was lucky because with my twins I got an ultrasond every month and it made me feel so much better being able to see them every month and know that they were doing fine and growing.

Usually your insurance will only pay for one or two ultrasounds. It really is up to your doctor, and if everything is going right and there are no problems, then they will probably say you don't need one. Doing an ultrasound just to get the sex of the baby isn't what it's for. At 14 weeks, there is no way to tell if it's a boy. The sex organs aren't even formed until around week 16-18. If you want to get an ultrasound, and your doctor says it's ok, then go for it. Although, at 33 weeks it's pretty hard to see much because the baby is so big at that point. Good luck to you!!

you can request one. just tell the doctor that you wold like to know the sex and have them set one up. 14 weeks is too early to know the sex and the doctor should know that. good luck.
