I have noticed that with most the guests oprah has on her show, she always tries to be better than them... for example:

There was a famous basketballer (can't remember his name)aged about 20. He had grown up extremely poor.
Oprah asked him "I heard that you bought your mom a (really expensive) car, with your first big paycheck", he answered "Yes I did".
So Oprah says "Oh, well when I got my first paycheck I retired my mom and bought her a house"... (Something along those lines)

That's just one example, but I've noticed she does it an awful lot... that's why I don't watch her show anymore.

She always seems to try and be better than anyone that appears on her show.

Has anyone else noticed that?

Yes, Oprah is a snob. Not only does she always try to appear better than her guests, but all of her "gifts" are free for Harpo Productions and her show! She claims that she "gives" the audience those gifts (on those shows when the audience gets like 50 presents) when, in fact, they are donated to the show. Also, her Angel Network, is completely funded by donations from regular American citizens, not her. She has like billions of dollars but acts so generous when she is really just selfish.

I neither hate or like Oprah. so my comments here are not biased. I do respect the woman. It is very suprising that most people are responding in a negative way to her. I understand what ur comment is and to some extent i agree, but i truly and sincerely dont think that she does it out of malice. She is human and therefore fallible...just like every single one of us. (this is to all of u that are hating on her, u all have ur faults). I think what makes her extraordinary, (and i dont mean her wealth) is that she has truly found her calling in life. and that is what we all want and are searching for (whether u are white/black/rich/poor). i believe that when we find our calling and are able to carry it out, we feel content,, we feel accomplished and we feel good about ourselves cuz we have made the world a better place(whether it be on a large and public scale like oprah or it be making a difference in one person's life). I think people are misunderstanding her expression of the fullfillment she has in her life for being a snob. At times when she acts the way u mentioned, i see it as her trying so hard to share her "wisdom" or rather life experiences and lessons with other people.

Yes, you are right about her and that is also why I don't watch her especially when I saw the show when she had the "Crash" movie stars and she put Ludacris out there and made a mockery out of him. I only watch when she has a person that I really like to interview other than that, I don't watch her anymore.

I don't know about Oprah. But Katie Couric seemed that way when she was finishing sentences for interviewees on the Today Show.

I don't like her show and as a person she is just like most people who has money and I feel like that she could have donate that money for some schools her in the U.S.A. but that will be a big tax write-off for her cause there are alot of schools that need improvements and soon that just need to be rebuilted.

I think she's becoming more comfortable with her guests, treating them more like close friends, or family. And doesn't mean to come of as rude, but wants her guests to feel like she relates to them. She is at the top of her game, and knows she isnt going anywhere.
The one who really bugs me is Tyra Banks...like, let the guest speak. Your the host, you listen. The guest speaks, you listen to what they have to say. You ask a question, let THEM answer it...
It's quite comical really.

I don't watch her show any more because I started noticing a HUGE ego from her. Like what you said, plus she ALWAYS interupts people. I can't stand that.

I hardly watch her anymore, she analyzes everyone like she some kind of a therapist. I watch Ellen instead, more entertaining.
