- dialog box : to enter an information
- text box : to display message or provide place to enter data,
- toggle button : to represent on or off status. eg: the 'search', 'favourite', 'media' button on explorer.
- list box : a list of choices to be selected.
- drop-down list box : displays the current selection.
- option button (or radio button) : represents one choice in a set of options.
- check box : to select one or more options.
- calendar control : to select a date from the system.

2. email, audio, internet-based information delivery, fax, computer output microfilm (COM), computer output to laser disk (COLD).
