I know I have some time to decide, but I can't decide between applying for a job at Bethesda (The people who made Oblivion, great game) or moving to Japan and living and working there. I know, I might not get accepted at Bethesda, but let's just say I do. Should I work in the US or in Japan? Are there smaller companies in Japan that are like Bethesda? Help! Thanks.

From your question, I take it you are a software engineer seeking work in that field.

I would suggest that you go for the Bethesda job. Then, if you don't get it you can try the Japan path. If you want a job in software development in Japan, however, it might be difficult if you don't speak Japanese. But if you are willing to move away from the software field and teach English or something like that in Japan, I would go to Japan.

This is just a personal opinion.

you can apply for more than one job at the same time. Follow the path that leads towards your goals. What kinds of opportunities are being presented? Are you looking at a career versus a short time employment?

In my case, I chose the career path over just going to Japan to live and work. That career choice eventually opened of 2 years of business trips to Japan and then a 3.5 year transfer to the Japan office. That 3.5 year assignment ends at the end of this month.

Think about it as a career choice rather than a job choice. What would you like to be doing in 20 years' time and follow the path.
