I am 39 weeks pregnant and My mother inlaw wants to come over on wensday and stay till the baby comes. She doesnt have a liscense and will only be bringing $100, she also smokes(only outside) and leaves messes everywhere and I think she smells like cat pee but maybe its just hormones that make the smell and make me so irked that she will be rushing to the hospital with us and it wont be personal any more, by the way she only lives an hour away there isnt any real reason for her to come right now. So is it e being a brat or am I being reasonable?

She wants to help - that's understandable.
The smells are probably enhanced from being pregnant. I remember when I was pregnant w/my son, I could smell the trash from the kitchen or when one of the dogs made a mess. I'm so glad that's over with!
If you want her to wait, tell her to give it a few more days or a week. You might even see if you can't find someone willing to pick her up when you go into labor since she's only an hour away. If you opt to not have her come - just thank her polietly and tell her you feel you'd be putting her out.

Its her, not you and not hormones.
Just tell your husband to stand up to her and say we will call you when the baby comes.
Then do that.
Wait till your in the hospital and your beautiful baby is here. Have your moment with your husband and child and then call MOM.

Ps When we had our daughter and she was about to be born her 2 older sisters came to help and my wife has always regretted it. They bossed her and everything seemed to be about them and not our child. They knew better how to do everything. She was miserable the whole time. They were helpful afterwards.
