Yes, if a committed non-marriage oriented relationship is all that you want right now. Marriage isn't romance. It's a 24 by 7 JOB. It is the same commitment you would make if joined the Marines (you can leave the Marines after about four years, however), and if you're not up for that at this point in your life, that's fine. A fairy tail wedding day only lasts ONE day. Then you have the rest of your life to live with what you did on that particular day.

Just be up front with the men you meet about what you want and need in a relationship. If you're in the 18 to 28 age group, I think you might find a lot of young men who feel the same as you do right now. They would like a regular some one, but aren't ready for the ring. Your thoughts and feelings ring true for singles of almost all age brackets. The exception would be those 90 to 120. If you managed to live to be that old, get married already!

Interesting concept---but any relationship is what you make of it--you can't just talk a good game--you don't date a guy once and see all what you are lookin for--it takes time to grow and develop---it needs nurturing---and whatever the goal is--marry or not marry--that is up to you--marriage is a personal choice to legally bind with another individual. It is more legal than it is emotional--after the wedding comes all the cold hard facts of life---and the constant spending and then comes the stress and pressure. That is why people live together and share--2 can live cheaper than one. Me--I am single--always have been--I am responsible for myself--no one else to worry about. I have had girlfriends but never wanted the marriage committment--no need for it. I don't want a live in girlfriend--I want my freedom--no accountability except to myself. So try and see if your desires are what you really want. Good luck and have fun

Alot of men are probably more comfortable in a relationship like that as the expectation by the woman of eventually getting married is not there

of course thats okay. Not everyone is ready for marriage yet. Some just only wants someone to love and care for them.

Yeah, sure. My parents have me and my brother and they've been together for 25 years. They aren't married and never have been.

The staple "Married" isn't as important as the being together forever part.

Goodluck.

as long as you find someone who isnt looking to get married there shouldnt be any problems.... not everyone wants to get married, and marriage isnt the first thing to think about when dating someone...everyone is different, but i dont think that marriage is going to determine whether or not you date someone

I'm not sure "looking" for either really works anyway. It comes when it comes. Usually when you least expect it....and when he "knocks your socks off" you really don't have any control over how you feel....

Some people are just like you and I'm sure you can find someone like that.
