When after your period do you ovulate? When is the best time to try and make a baby? My last period just ended the middle of last week? Is there really a certain time that is the best, or can you pretty much get pregnant whenever.

You ovulate in general, in the middle of your cycle. so, if you have a 28 day cycle, it'll be around day 14. Probably, a better way to be "sure" about it is to take your cycle and divide it into 3 equal amounts of time. You'll most likely ovulate during this 2nd time period.

Other more accurate ways of figuring out when you ovulate is:

1. cervical mucus: (cm) it'll be really slippery, clear, and like egg whites when you're ovulating. it'll occur over a few hours up to 2 days.

2. Basal body thermometer: (BBT) you take your temperature with this thermometer the second you wake up. you don't stand up, roll over, talk, etc--you just take your temp. you can chart it at www.mymonthlycycles.com

3. ovulation predictor kits: these can be very expensive and a waste of money if you don't have some idea when you ovulate.

anyway, have sex within 2 days before or 24 hours after ovulating. If you don't have any luck for a few months, you may be ovulating much later or earlier than you thought.

good luck!

It's usually 12-14 days after the first day of your period, however, if your periods are irregular or Mother Nature decides to take charge, it's anybodies guess :)

on the average it is in the middle of your period cycles. You may notice a clear discharge or cramping in the middle of your cycle, that is your fertile time.
