how long did they stay or did they never leave?

We've done both - my brother in law lived with us for 2 months, which was a problem because he wouldn't get a job or do anything around the house. My siblings lived with me for a while, though, and we all got along famously, even my husband, because they were respectful and held their own for chores.

My husband's cousin lived with us for 3 months after he divorced his wife.

My brother lived with us for 1yr and 3 months after he got out of prison. When I tell people that, they think he was a bum. Which is far from the case! The man works like a dog to get and keep his life on track. He just needed more time to get his affiars in order than my husband's cousin.

I'm glad we could help them in their lives in their hours of need.

My brother stays with us, but it's not a problem. We have plenty of space and he cleans up after himself and helps around the house. We have often had family members stay with us - mostly my family as his is out of state.
