Does anyone know the perfect shade for bringing out brown eyes without going too overboard? It'd be nice if it could look brighter too. Thanks.

I have dark brown eyes myself, and the color that I love is purple. The shade you choose will vary with your skintone. If you're lighter complected, a lavender shade will be best. If you're skin is a bit darker, then deeper shades such as plum are very flattering. A deep plum eyeliner would be gorgeous regardless of the shade you choose as well, although it's not necessary. I have also found that a bright, slightly shimmery neutral shade can really make the eyes pop too. I have medium skin and use a champagne color and love it, but if you're lighter complected then a cream shade would be best. Don't use white! Against dark eyes it's too much of a contrast. I will sometimes use a brown or even gold eyeliner with this as well. Black eyeliner can look great with brown eyes, but it's not the best color to use if you're trying to make your eyes look brighter. Black eyeliner makes brown eyes look darker, which isn't the look I think you're going for since you said that you indeed wanted something brighter. Brown-eyed girls are very lucky though in the fact that they can wear more shades of eye makeup than any other eyecolor. Play around with it. You'll find what you like. Good luck!

If you have a fairer complexion, a rich emerald green will complement your brown eyes. I'm a little tan so unless I use eyeshadow primer, greens and bronze shadows do not enhance my eyemakeup.

I prefer using mauve/violet color since it photographs better. Using a sparkly eyeshadow helps create depth and interest around the eye area. I recommend Covergirl's No. 530 "Aubergine Queen," which sells for about $3 at your local drugstore. The color is subtle and if you would like to create a smoky effect, keep the lid neutral and use a smoky violent just to contour along the eyecrease.

I hope this helps!

Recently started using two colors for my brown eyes. A purple type on bottom lid and brown on top for eyeliners. Then go with the natural browns for shadow. Naturals are in again! Have gotten alot of compliments on my eyes, sometimes use the lavenders as shadow. Heard if you use a lighter color on lower lid and darker on top will bring attention to the eyes themselves. Have Fun1

I even have brown eyes as nicely. independent colorings bypass nicely with brown eyes. in keeping with risk try eye shadows at the same time with brown, tan, peach, ect. As for the colourful seems, blue eye shadows deliver out brown eyes good. additionally, it rather is advisable to choose for a crimson, too. wish I helped :)

Purple brings out brown eyes, but you dont want to look like a clown so i think a dark purple would look pretty.

I thnk black eyeshadow brings out brown eyes also. I notice no one really mentions black for any color, but if you think about it, black is darker than brown so it will make your brown eyes stand out more. especially if you have dark hair also.

What i've found that also brings outs brown eyes is if you wear purple clothing. I once was wearing a purple jacket and my eyes looked very light and nice.

Purple along the lid usually makes brown eyes stand out. Stay away from colored mascaras.
Depending on eyeshape, golds and browns look great too.

I find that plums and silvers look really pretty on brown eyes.
Also...different shades of brown and tan...

Try not to use pastels alone. They make brown eyes look crappy.
