It is sort of unreasonable, isn't it?
But, I think that this forum is filled with "mini Repubs", who really haven't thought anything through very well. I mean, once in a great while, (a very great while), I actually connect with a Rep and/or conservative who makes sense, and they DON'T spout BS like that. They have "reasons" for our being in Iraq. (Of course, they are reasons I don't agree with, but I do like the debate when it is on an intelligent level...)
Camel flotilla??? LMFAO--that is such a great visual....

I can't follow your logic, but the war is being fought in Iraq and not here so that's all I care about.
If the war if fought here (like in 24) then it will be in cities like LA, Washington DC, NYC, Chicago...so what is the dif?
I don't think Americans will understand terrorism until they see the effects of war first hand and then it will be too late.
Look at happened in New Orleans when the city was flooded.
Do you really think the United States would not be greatly effected when we see our cities being destroyed?
Yes, I would rather see the war on terrorism fought in Iraq, Iran, then in our back yard. No President is going to stand down when they see a major populated area go up in smoke...maybe then George W. Bush won't look so bad to you anymore. I did not vote for Bush ..in either of the elections but I am glad someone is doing what has to be done even if it is not the popular thing with the average voter.
Sure we made mistakes..remember the history books are written by the winners...not the losers...

Notice the similarities in the quotes below:
Hermann Goering, second in command of the Third Reich and key founder of the Nazi party, said; “Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism, and exposing the country to greater danger”.
"If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic, and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the state to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State."
__Josef Goebbels, Nazi Minister of Propaganda
The first quote is very much the kind of thing you are saying about the neocons.
The second quote definately describes the Rove view of how things should be.
Similarities are uncanny.

Helping to establish a Free Elected Government in Iraq is an important step in the war on terror.
Terrorism has little chance gaining a foothold in countries with liberty. And liberty is contagious.
One is tactical one is strategic. We drew them into the fight, crushed them pretty good, captured some leaders, killed others and sent the rest into primitive underground hideouts. Their ability to communicate is badly hindered, their ability to finance is hindered.
Iran and Syria are running scared. They have been trying to support the insurgency because a Free Iraq can mean the downfall of their own governments when their populations want the fruits of liberty, too.
Do you get it now? The best defense is a strong offense.
