Hi, I have a wireless Gateway modem from SBC. I seem to have problems staying connected when I use my cordless phone. I have heard that it it's because it interferes with the frequency that the cordless phone uses. I'm currently using Channel 1
on my modem. It gives me the option to use 11 different channels. Has any one come cross this problem? If I use one of the other channels, will the connection speed decrease?

Your wireless phone is probably 2.4Ghz just like your router, and that is causing the interference. You could play with your channel selection, but i dont think it will do much if any good.

Try moving the basestation of the phone as far away from your router as possible and dont use the handset near it either.

Interference from your cordless phone is a possibility, but also, you need to ensure you have filters on all your phones including the cordless base.
