of course there are a lot of nuts and people who just want to be silly on answers but, Have noticed that there are a lot of people who are beginning to think for them selves rather than have our biased media do it for them, I don't mind others disagreeing with my beliefs, but when some one responds in a nasty way or comes up with B,S, that our media says and they think it is gospel it is disappointing , as this should be a good forum to get others ideas and to learn from others experience or knowledge, however the damned thing can be addictive,

Other sections are useful, but politics is pure extremist rhetoric. Oddly, if you ask a serious question, nobody seems to know the answer. Maybe all the rhetorical questions and inflamatory responses drive away people who can really contribute.
That being said, I'd say it's always more difficult to be the incumbent, and it's tough to be a Republican right now. Dems are having a field day bashing Bush, yet the Dems have just been sitting on the sidelines for 6 yrs., so it's difficult to hit 'em back. This enormous responsibility hasn't been on their shoulders since 9/11.
If President Gore sent us to Iraq, cons would certainly be screaming of liberal adventurism. 9/11 would have been his fault.
Fact is, knowbody has anything intelligent to say right now since nobody knows exactly what should be done. But, we agree on 1000's of issues, disagreeing on only a handful.

Well thought out answers may well persuade people who have not yet made up their minds.
When people all get on and just make wild charges, call names and spew vitriol, that, can also help people see which side has useful information and logical arguments and which just sound like a bunch of high school kids repeating what they heard others say.

Its difficult to keep an open mind in this forum since it has become so hateful and disrespectful, especially towards conservatism.I think age and something drastic usually is the reason for changes.I was a democrat until the Bush/Gore campaign, when Al Gore tried to have the oversea military votes kicked out of the count,I was highly ticked off,if anyone deserves the votes to count its the men and women who lay their lives on the line for this country and for you and me.Just my opinion.

I support Hillary Clinton, I have to change my mind every day just to keep up with her. If someone posts questionable information, I scour for the truth or actual quote and add a bit of fantasy to keep things light. I love the politics site.

If you could see the tracks of time and history in my face. I have been there and done that. Not too many new things in this old world and there is definitely not a lot of new ideas on yahoo answers, but being an eternal optimist I keep hoping that I will change a socialists mind............oops! I forgot they have no minds. And based on my history it is doubtful that many here have anything they can show me to make me change my mind.

I have sent and received e-mails from those using this forum, and some of the exchanges have been somewhat productive.
A lot of the sarcasm and bravura go away when only one person is going to read what's written.

As you've pointed out, many are silly, immature or just downright stupid. But others are well thought out & informative. I think that if people keep an open mind, they could very well change their previous thinking...gradually.

People respond out of fear and ignorance.
So....What makes a difference to me is researching all possibilities, not just the American cyber info....all of it anything that I can get my hands on ..I base my decisions on info I can get and share.....The wisdom of others and the trust that I have in my resources.......
