DTE Energy Music Theatre (also called "Pine Knob") is about 40 miles north of the city of Detroit in a suburb named Clarkston. It's a very safe area and venue.

DTE is safe to a point
you are going to Ozzfest-
with a potentially rougher, younger,higher , more intensely angry crowd..
keep money not visible, close to you be aware of your immediate surroundings
crime is everywhere.. even in the burbs If you are not smart

man, dte is not even close to detroit. it's more like a suburb of auburn hills or pontiac. it's an alright venue though. i'm not a huge fan of ampitheatres or stadium concerts. i like the small venues.
dte is exit 89 on I 75 though. parking fees are included in the ticket price.

well from everyones answer you know its 45 minutes from Detroit. There really doesn't seem to be a bad seat in the house. If you sit on the lawn, your better off renting their lawn chairs, they have height requirements for lawn chairs you bring in. You should have a blast at ozzfeast. Most of the paking is easy out.

it's not in detroit. not a bad area at all. Know the Palace where the Pistons play? it' is in one of the richest suburbs in America. Yet they always show pics of detroit during games. funny, since it's a good 45 minutes from the D.

DTE is in Clarkston, MI...this is where Kid Rock lives :) I would say it's a very safe suburb...IMO

dte isnt really in detriot its in a subburb youll love it there if you have never been there its not in a bad area at all rock on at the oz fest

It's not in Detroit,,,, infact,,,I don't even take the highway there,,,, I go down backroads,,,that is how country it is there,,,,,, dirt roads,,,,,
free parking,,,,, lots of room too.....
beer is like 5 bucks or more, maybe now,,, a piece.
don't bring water,and they will check your bag when you come in,,,,,, so guzzle whatever you got in the parking lot..........
lawn seats are way better because you can dance,,,,and have a good time,,,,,
