My husband is a lovely black African and I am a white American. When two people love each other, why would others look upon that unfavorably, no matter background or color?

most likely ignorance, some people are raised with prejudice in their familys and its hard to step out of that. i'm sorry you have to face the idiots of society. i face them too.

I think that colour is blind. I'm also in an interracial relationship- Latino and Black and there will always be individuals who adore your couple and those that don't. It's good to sometimes join a community with individuals in the same situation. A good one is: interracialrelationships.ca it is actually a blog of an interracial relationship that give out topics for discussion and that encourage the unitying of people in interracial relationships as well as those that are curious about it. Because people are ignorant and cannot accept anything outside their little bubble. Though we have made giant strides in terms of accepting different races, there are still prejudices...I too am in a relationship with a black man and I've encountered similiar things...but more so from black women in my community saying I've taken one of their best men...oh well. I guess I have.

No idea, but personally, who cares what anyone else thinks? Most of my friends are of varying ancestry and I really couldn't give a ---- what anyone else's opinion might be on the matter.
