Of course not, It's probably one of the most important things to do before a competition that envolves movement of the muscles becuase if you dont stretch you could end up with a pulled muscle. Unless you in a competition like chess, Then i doubt stretching is that important in an event like that.

Before you do any stretching.. You need to get some blood going in your system...Do some running in place, a quick jog, or some juming jack...Once you have dont that stretch for a 15 count and releasing the strech slowing...Make sure you do not bounce...This could cause you to pull a hammy or muscle....Stretch slowly and it will help you in any activities...Once you are done with you activities...Stretch again to reduce sorness the next day....and drink lots of water.
